About the tides at Atli Inlet

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The tide range here is very large, about 3.05 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most British Columbia stations on this site.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1955. The nearest other station is Sedgwick Bay, 8.7 km away, where high tide comes about 5 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.

Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
