About the tides at Cape Jack
Cape Jack has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 0.68 m between high and low. That is smaller than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.19 m, comes today, and the smallest, 0.82 m, on October 7.
Predictions for Cape Jack come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. The nearest other station is Havre Boucher, 3.8 km away, where high tide comes about 38 min later. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
