About the tides at Ceylon
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Ceylon, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. With a mean range of about 6.3 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 7.8 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 6.6 ft, on Sunday.
Ceylon is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Bailey Cut, 4 mi away. For tidal currents, see Cabin Bluff, Cumberland River.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
