About the tides at Freeport Entrance Jetty

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is larger than most Texas stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 1.7 ft. The next spring tides peak on Friday, with a range of 2.3 ft. Neap tides follow on October 8, when the range shrinks to 0.9 ft.
