About the tides at Galveston Pleasure Pier
Galveston Pleasure Pier has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. Water here rises and falls only about 1.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is larger than most Texas stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.0 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.8 ft, comes on Friday, and the smallest, 1.2 ft, on October 8.
Predictions for Galveston Pleasure Pier come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 1957 to 2011 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Galveston, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 58 min later. For tidal currents, see Galveston Channel, East End.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
