About the tides at Grand Eddy

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Grand Eddy, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 4.57 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 6.91 m. Neap tides follow tomorrow, when the range shrinks to 2.06 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Tiverton (Boars Head), 1.2 km away, where high tide comes about 59 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
