About the tides at Hunters Point

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.0 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The range is large, about 5.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most California stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 8.8 ft. Neap tides follow tomorrow, when the range shrinks to 1.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 8.2 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −2.0 ft on June 6.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1974 to 1981 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Potrero Point, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 7 min later. For tidal currents, see Point Avisadero, 0.3 mile east of.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
