About the tides at Jackos Point

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.24 m, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The average range is about 1.42 m. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Newfoundland and Labrador stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 13, with a range of 2.31 m. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 1.39 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Makkovik, 18 km away, where high tide comes about 39 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
