About the tides at Jessie Point
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The range is large, about 2.81 m on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most British Columbia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 4.28 m. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 1.57 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Sullivan Bay, 7.3 km away, where high tide comes about 13 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
