About the tides at Kangiqsujuaq

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Kangiqsujuaq, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 5.81 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Quebec stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Friday, with a range of 7.20 m. Neap tides follow on October 17, when the range shrinks to 4.49 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1968. The nearest other station is Doctor Island, 22 km away, where high tide comes about 28 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
