About the tides at Larsen Island
Larsen Island has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Larsen Island sees a mean range of about 3.63 m. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most British Columbia stations on this site.
Predictions for Larsen Island come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1962. The nearest other station is Griffith Harbour, 3.0 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
