About the tides at Matanzas Inlet

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The average range is about 3.6 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.1 ft. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 4.2 ft. Neap tides follow on October 18, when the range shrinks to 2.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.1 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 23.
