About the tides at Mink Creek entrance
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.4 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Fernandina Beach, Amelia River. The average range is about 4.3 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.7 ft. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 5.0 ft. Neap tides follow on October 19, when the range shrinks to 2.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.6 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.6 ft on January 23.
Mink Creek entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fernandina Beach, Amelia River: highs come about 73 min and lows about 125 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1978 to 1979 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Cuno, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 1 m later.
