About the tides at Munson Island

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 1.3 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 1.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.5 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.5 ft on January 21.

Munson Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 40 min and lows about 12 min earlier than there.
