About the tides at Ocean City Inlet

Ocean City Inlet has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 2.1 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Maryland stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.5 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.5 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 1.6 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.1 ft on September 30 and bottom out at −0.8 ft on January 23.
