About the tides at Peel Point
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Peel Point, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. Water here rises and falls only about 0.61 m on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is larger than most Northwest Territories stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.92 m, comes on October 13, and the smallest, 0.27 m, on Monday.
Predictions for Peel Point come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
