About the tides at Perch Point

Perch Point has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The range is large, about 9.3 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 11.7 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 16.5 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 6.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 14.8 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −3.5 ft on July 5.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2000 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Port Chalmers, 9 mi away. For tidal currents, see Green Island Pass.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
