About the tides at Point Roberts

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The range is large, about 6.2 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 9.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 29, with a range of 13.3 ft. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 3.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 11.8 ft on December 25, and the lowest is −3.9 ft on July 4.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1975 to 2015 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Tsawwassen, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 5 min later. For tidal currents, see Strait of Georgia, 4.5 nm SW of Point Roberts.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
