About the tides at Port Townsend

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The range is large, about 5.3 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 8.5 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 11.2 ft. Neap tides follow on October 28, when the range shrinks to 2.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 10.0 ft on December 26, and the lowest is −3.6 ft on July 4.

Admiralty Inlet is a NOAA water level station with a live gauge, updated every 6 minutes. Predictions come from the station's own tide records.
