About the tides at Rivière-au-Renard

Rivière-au-Renard has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 1.03 m between high and low. That is smaller than most Quebec stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.63 m, comes today, and the smallest, 0.88 m, on October 7.

Rivière-au-Renard is a CHS station with a live water level gauge. Predictions come from the station's own tidal analysis. It was established in 1918. The nearest other station is L'Anse-à-Valleau, 15 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide.
