About the tides at Saint-Jean I.O.

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Saint-Jean I.O., each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The tide range here is very large, about 4.35 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Quebec stations on this site.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1966. The nearest other station is Bouée K136, 2.3 km away. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
