About the tides at Saltery Bay

Saltery Bay has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The range is large, about 2.23 m on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 3.76 m. Neap tides follow on October 22, when the range shrinks to 2.35 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Blind Bay, 7.5 km away, where high tide comes about 15 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
