About the tides at Sandy Point

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.8 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Seattle, Puget Sound. With a mean range of about 7.6 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 11.3 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 13.6 ft, comes on October 26, and the smallest, 8.2 ft, on October 22. NOAA measured the tide here in 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Spee-Bi-Dah, 4 mi away. For tidal currents, see Camano Head-Sandy Point, passage.

Predictions are based on Seattle, Puget Sound.
