About the tides at Sassafras River

Sassafras River has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The mean range is small, about 1.6 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is larger than most Maryland stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 2.4 ft. Neap tides follow on October 29, when the range shrinks to 1.3 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.5 ft on November 25, and the lowest is 0.0 ft on November 25.
