About the tides at Sesuit Harbor
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.8 ft. The range is large, about 9.7 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most Massachusetts stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 10.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 12.3 ft on July 6, and the lowest is −2.0 ft on January 23.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 1993 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is South Yarmouth, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 46 m later. For tidal currents, see Barnstable Harbor.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
