About the tides at Southern Chincoteague Island

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The average range is about 2.9 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Virginia stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.2 ft.
