About the tides at Southold

Southold has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at New London, Thames River. The average range is about 2.1 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most New York stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 3.4 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 1.7 ft.
