About the tides at Southport

Southport has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The average range is about 4.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most North Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.7 ft.
