About the tides at St. Lawrence

St. Lawrence has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The average range is about 1.28 m. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Newfoundland and Labrador stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 2.00 m. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 0.78 m.

St. Lawrence is a CHS station with a live water level gauge. Predictions come from the station's own tidal analysis. The nearest other station is Burin, 22 km away, where high tide comes about 9 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
