About the tides at St Paul Island
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.04 m. The average range is about 0.64 m. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Monday, with a range of 0.98 m. Neap tides follow on October 20, when the range shrinks to 0.43 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Bay St. Lawrence, 33 km away. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
