About the tides at Stockton
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.8 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay. On a typical day the water moves about 2.9 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most California stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.0 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 2.9 ft, on October 19. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.0 ft on July 4 and bottom out at −0.4 ft on December 26.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Chicago, Suisun Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1982 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Blackslough Landing, 8 mi away, where high tide comes about 20 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Vulcan Island, 0.5 mile east of.
Predictions are based on Port Chicago, Suisun Bay.
