About the tides at Strathmere
Strathmere has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Atlantic City (Ocean). On a typical day the water moves about 3.8 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.4 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.8 ft, comes on Saturday, and the smallest, 2.6 ft, on October 18. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.4 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.1 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Atlantic City (Ocean), with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1977 to 1978 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Middle Thorofare, 1 mi away. For tidal currents, see Corson's Inlet Entrance.
Predictions are based on Atlantic City (Ocean).
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
