About the tides at Tarrytown

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.4 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at The Battery, New York Harbor. On a typical day the water moves about 3.0 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most New York stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.4 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 2.3 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.4 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −0.9 ft on January 23.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at The Battery, New York Harbor, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Alpine, 10 mi away, where high tide comes about 44 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Tarrytown.

Predictions are based on The Battery, New York Harbor.
