About the tides at Wiggins
Wiggins has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Fort Pulaski, Savannah River. The range is large, about 6.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.6 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 8.0 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 4.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 7.8 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −2.1 ft on January 23.
Wiggins is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fort Pulaski, Savannah River: highs come about 105 min and lows about 80 min later than there.
