About the tides at Winisk

Winisk has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The range is large, about 2.22 m on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most Ontario stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 3.03 m. Neap tides follow on Tuesday, when the range shrinks to 1.79 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1957. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
