About the tides at Wrangell

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.7 ft. Wrangell sees a mean range of about 13.6 ft. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 16.0 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 20.3 ft, comes on October 25, and the smallest, 6.1 ft, on Saturday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 19.4 ft on January 23 and bottom out at −4.3 ft on December 24.
