About the tides at Acadia Cove
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Acadia Cove, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. Acadia Cove sees a mean range of about 4.66 m. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Nunavut stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 6.87 m, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 2.50 m, on Monday.
Predictions for Acadia Cove come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. It was established in 1984. The nearest other station is Sorry Harbour, 32 km away, where high tide comes about 37 min earlier. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
