About the tides at Sorry Harbour
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.36 m. The tide range here is very large, about 3.87 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Nunavut stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 5.33 m. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 2.97 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Acadia Cove, 32 km away, where high tide comes about 36 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
