About the tides at Alafia River North
Alafia River North has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at St. Petersburg, Tampa Bay. The average range is about 2.1 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 29, with a range of 4.1 ft. Neap tides follow on Thursday, when the range shrinks to 1.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.9 ft on July 4, and the lowest is −1.2 ft on January 21.
