About the tides at Amak Island

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Unalaska, Dutch Harbor. With a mean range of about 5.5 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.7 ft, comes on October 30, and the smallest, 3.8 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 10.8 ft on December 23 and bottom out at −2.7 ft on June 6.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Unalaska, Dutch Harbor, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them.
