About the tides at Barroom Bay
Tides at Barroom Bay are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. Water here rises and falls only about 0.4 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Texas stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.5 ft, comes on October 29, and the smallest, 0.1 ft, on Thursday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 0.5 ft on October 29 and bottom out at −0.1 ft on December 24.
Predictions for Barroom Bay come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here from 2019 to 2020 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Port O'Connor, 7 mi away. For tidal currents, see Matagorda Ship Channel Marker 19.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
