About the tides at Bugle Point
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.5 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Adak Island, Sweeper Cove. On a typical day the water moves about 2.5 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.1 ft, comes on October 30, and the smallest, 1.4 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.0 ft on December 23 and bottom out at −1.6 ft on June 6.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Adak Island, Sweeper Cove, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Sand Bay, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 6 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Chugul Pass, 2 miles NE of Cape Ruin.
Predictions are based on Adak Island, Sweeper Cove.
