About the tides at Sweeper Cove

Sweeper Cove has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 2.9 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.7 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 4.3 ft, comes on Thursday, and the smallest, 1.6 ft, on October 23. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 5.6 ft on December 23 and bottom out at −1.8 ft on June 6.
