About the tides at Bunker Island Light
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.24 m. Bunker Island Light sees a mean range of about 3.13 m. Low tide can expose a wide area, and the return is fast. That is larger than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.94 m, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 2.70 m, on Sunday.
Predictions for Bunker Island Light come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. The nearest other station is Bunker Island Wharf, 0.9 km away. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
