About the tides at Bush Point

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Port Townsend. With a mean range of about 5.9 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 9.4 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.4 ft, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 4.2 ft, on October 11.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Port Townsend, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Holly Farms Harbor, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 21 min later.
