About the tides at Cat Island

Cat Island usually gets one high and one low tide a day, known as a diurnal tide. The pattern follows the reference station at South Pass. Water here rises and falls only about 1.4 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.7 ft on October 30 and bottom out at −1.4 ft on January 20.
