About the tides at Chankliut Island

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.4 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. With a mean range of about 6.3 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 8.5 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 10.2 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 4.6 ft, on October 15. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 11.0 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −2.9 ft on July 4.
