About the tides at Cherry Island

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.6 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River. The mean range is small, about 1.2 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 2.2 ft. Neap tides follow on Tuesday, when the range shrinks to 0.6 ft.
