About the tides at Woolford
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.6 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River. The mean range is small, about 1.2 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 1.9 ft. Neap tides follow on October 20, when the range shrinks to 0.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.7 ft on July 4, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 22.
Woolford is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River: highs come about 191 min and lows about 175 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Cherry Island, 4 mi away. For tidal currents, see Ragged Point, 1.5 miles east of.
Predictions are based on Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River.
