About the tides at Christmas Point
Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Elliott Key, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Miami Beach, Government Cut. The mean range is small, about 1.8 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 2.7 ft on September 30, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 23.
Christmas Point is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Miami Beach, Government Cut: highs come about 13 min and lows about 37 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here in 1974 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Adams Key, 0.4 mi away, where high tide comes about 48 min later. For tidal currents, see Caesar Creek, Biscayne Bay.
Predictions are based on Miami Beach, Government Cut.
